Went to Chock full of beans (CFOB) today to check out their infamous 3d latte art and cute etching. I was not disappointed. Even though I regretted not scrolling through instagram before ordering my drink, I was still pleasantly surprised with the work of the barista on duty.
CFOB was not as hard to get to as it's reputation is. Just take bus 2 and drop off at block 5 and you will see CFOB at the opposite side of the road. No worries if you miss the stop, you will end up at the bus terminal, which is like a 5 minutes walk away from CFOB as well.
We had the Iced Hazelnut latte and the Iced mocha. When we ordered, the server told us that the coffee might take up to 30minutes to prepare. It came as a shock to us, but in the end it took less than 10minutes to arrive.
The Hazelnut latte ( which is supposedly their best selling coffee for the 3d latteart series) is good for coffee drinkers like me - those who do not like the bitter taste of the coffee. Otherwise it might be too sweet for those who prefer a rich coffee taste.
P.s. I think that the Iced Halzelnut latte tastes nicer unmixed because you are able to taste the different layer of the coffee.
I really liked the interior of the place too. And the ambience is pretty sweet for a neighborhood cafe.
I also had squid and prawn aglio olio which was so so good. It was just spicy enough for me and the flavor bursts into your mouth when you eat it. I also don't usually like squid, but i finished every single thing on my plate today. It was just too darn YUMMY. The squid was not rubbery and the taste seems to have been absorbed into the seafood.
My friend had the poached egg carbonara but could not finish it because it was too creamy.
We just couldn't resist ordering another cuppa because of the cute latte art. This time, we were smarter and we requested for Olaf specifically. We wanted Sully from Monsters Inc but the barista couldn't do it :'( or was too lazy to do it. HAHA.
But the Honey Matcha Latte BLEW MY MIND AWAY. The honey taste blends so perfectly with the Matcha its amazing. And it is so smooth that it just slides down your throat. Mmmmmmmm. So goooooodddd. But towards the end it got too sweet and it wasn't hot anymore so it was kinda hard to swallow - guess it was partly our fault because we spent so much time taking photos instead of drinking the coffee.
Saying all these, I will definitely be back for more coffee and food in the future :D It's just a little pricey for a neighborhood cafe, considering the f act that we spent $28person for dinner.
